Install from an official store
Install MM-Tweaks for Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, or Apple Safari. In Edge, enable Allow extensions from other stores, then install the Chrome version.
Open MM-Tweaks settings
After installation, sign in to Monarch Money, select Settings in the bottom-left corner, and then select Display. The MM-Tweaks settings should appear there. MM-Tweaks features are labeled so you can distinguish them from Monarch’s own features.
Fixed and flexible spending
MM-Tweaks does not use Monarch’s Fixed and Flexible spending classifications. Monarch includes a third level, Non-monthly, which is not compatible with MM-Tweaks pacing and actual-spending comparisons.
MM-Tweaks classifies spending at the category-group level. Go to Settings → Categories, then select the MM-Tweaks Fixed or Flexible checkbox for each category group. Trends and Net Income use these selections for their spending analysis.
These MM-Tweaks settings do not affect the Annual Budget sub-report, which uses Monarch’s own Fixed, Flexible, and Monthly settings directly.
If one category group contains both fixed and flexible expenses, separate those categories into different groups. For example, create Auto - Fixed and Auto - Flexible, then move each Auto category into the appropriate group. You can use the same approach with groups such as Home - Fixed and Home - Flexible.
Set up Account Groups
Open Reports → Accounts. For each account, select the > on the far right to open its side panel. Select Edit… at the top of the side panel, then assign an Account Group to that account. You can use labels that fit your workflow, such as Personal, Business, Managed, Credit Cards, or Trust. The Account Group filter is available on all four MM-Tweaks reports. If you’re like me, you’ll use this filter often.

Favorite Views
Favorite Views are available in all four MM-Tweaks reports. A Favorite View stores the current state of the three report pull-downs—sub-report, grouping, and Account Group filter—along with the Compress Grid setting.
Set up Favorite Views to return quickly to the reports you use most, already arranged and filtered the way you prefer.
MM-Tweaks will prompt you once a month to back up your settings. The backup file can restore your preferences after reinstalling and is compatible across browsers.
