01

Standard report

The Standard report shows all of your accounts as Assets and Liabilities. Use the report and grouping menus to display your account balances in different ways.

You can group the report by Class, Type, Subtype, Institution, Account Group, or other available views. Select a date or date range to review beginning balances, income, expenses, transfers, ending balances, net change, pending transactions, and projected balances.

Custom Account Groups

You can also break down your accounts using custom Account Groups. These can be useful for separating Personal and Business accounts, family members, taxable and tax-deferred accounts, or any other grouping that fits your workflow.

Personal Statement

The Personal Statement displays a simple balance sheet of your Assets and Liabilities. It provides a clean summary that can be useful when preparing information for a loan officer or reviewing your overall net worth.

Brokerage Statement

The Brokerage Statement displays only your investment accounts.

The Buy/Sell, Adjustments, and Transfers columns come from transactions assigned to Transfer categories. The Transfers column includes any category in the Transfer group that is not labeled Buy, Sell, or Adjustment.

To exclude transfers—new money added or money withdrawn—from the Net Change calculation, open Settings and select Add Transfers to Net Change in Brokerage Statement for Adjusted Performance.

The Positions column is the total value of the holdings in the account. The Cash Balance column is the current account balance minus the value of the holdings, which represents uninvested cash. Both columns can be shown or hidden in Settings.

Overall Cash Statement

The Overall Cash Statement shows cash held in Checking and Savings accounts, cash in investment accounts, and uninvested cash in brokerage accounts.

How uninvested cash is calculated

  • Monarch provides an Account Balance for each snapshot.
  • Monarch provides the sum of all holdings for each snapshot.
  • MM-Tweaks calculates uninvested cash as Account Balance − Sum of all holdings.

If the cash amount looks incorrect

  1. Verify that no holdings are missing from the account.
  2. If the account contains cryptocurrency or manually added holdings, MM-Tweaks may skip the uninvested-cash calculation for that account.
  3. If the holdings appear correct but the amount still differs, contact Monarch support or report the issue through the MM-Tweaks support options.

To treat a holding such as SGOV, TIPS, or SWTXX as cash, open Accounts, select the account, select Holdings, click > beside the holding, and set its Type to Cash.

Credit Card Statement

The Credit Card Statement summarizes credit card balances and provides details for refunds, charges, and payments. It also displays each card’s credit limit and current credit utilization.

Duplicate Transactions

This report identifies possible duplicate transactions using either the Original Merchant or Merchant value. Add a note to a transaction when you want to remove it from the duplicate listing. The related behavior can be configured in Accounts Settings.

Reconciliation

Reconciliation compares an individual Monarch account with a CSV downloaded from your bank or credit-card company. Open the account’s detail panel, select Reconcile, and choose the statement file and date range you want to review.

Map the CSV’s Date and Description columns, then select either a single Amount column or separate Debit and Credit columns. Files with or without headers are supported, and Invert debits and credits accommodates different statement sign conventions. MM-Tweaks remembers these choices separately for each account.

How transactions are matched

MM-Tweaks first matches transactions with the same date and signed amount. It then checks remaining equal amounts within 14 days in either direction, accommodating differences between a statement date and Monarch’s date without requiring identical descriptions. Each transaction can be matched only once, and split transactions are compared using their original parent transaction.

Reviewing the results

Confirmed matches are left out so you can concentrate on Missing, Extra, Different, and Possible combined results. Possible combined items are suggestions where several statement charges uniquely total one Monarch transaction; they are not treated as confirmed matches.

Results appear in a sortable table and can be exported to CSV. Manual Monarch transactions are identified with a manual-entry icon. Reconciliation is for comparison only and does not edit your Monarch transactions.
